Youth Advisory Committee

Wisdom2Action's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a group of highly motived and passionate young people who are committed to seeing positive change in their communities. The purpose of the YAC is three-fold: to support the work of W2A, to provide advice on the decisions of the Governing Board, and to act as Ambassadors for the W2A itself.

The YAC is a 6-person group, with a Chair who sits on Wisdom2Action’s Governing Board. The YAC is an opportunity for W2A to integrate some of the key youth engagement practices we have identified through looking at many of our partners’ best practices.

Youth Advisory Committee Evaluation 2018

In Fall 2017, the W2A Network asked itself: “When it comes to our own youth engagement, how are we doing?” This Participatory Evaluation sought to understand the nature and effectiveness of Youth Advisory Council (YAC) engagement at the W2A Network. It revealed both why and how the W2A and its YAC live their commitment to improving the sector through the inclusion of youth perspectives in the design of youth services and care.
